PokéNatomy: Artist Christopher Stoll Reveals the Anatomy of Pokémon Like a Real-Life Professor Oak

Do you ever find yourself wondering what exactly Nurse Joy is getting up to when she's restoring your damaged Pokémon back to health? Perhaps she gives massages to muscle groups specific to each creature, performs life-saving surgery, or administers medicine that has particular risk factors depending on the chemical make-up of the particular Pokémon. She would have had to have studied the biology of each Pokémon for years to be able to heal them as well as well as she does-- perhaps that's why she's not actually just one nurse, but several with the same name. 

You could say that I'm overthinking it a little, but I'm not overthinking it as much as artist Christopher Stoll, who has imagined, illustrated, and described in detail what the biology of Pokémon might look like in a world where evolution led us to Ponytas instead of horses. Created partly as a teaching aid to explain some scientific concepts, you can find books of his illustrations, Pokénatomy I and Pokénatomy II, for sale online.
