When you agree to work at a new job, you should know at least the basics of what you're getting into. That is the whole point of the interview, hiring, and contract process. If you walk in on your first day and it's a completely different job than what you were promised or the environment is immediately toxic to you, what do you do? Do you quit right away, or still give it a chance?
Some people do not want to waste time and they trust their guy. So even if they're unhappy only five minutes into their first day, they quit. We're not even exaggerating. This Reddit thread has lots of people sharing stories about themselves and coworkers immediately quitting. They walked in on their first days and thought, “Immediately no. Immediately no.” What would you do in this kind of situation? See what others did below and decide for yourself if they were being too hasty or not.
