I hope all of you Star Trek fans reading this are highly jealous to hear that I took a Klingon class in college. I'm sure you've all heard about those wacky colleges in the middle of nowhere offering pointless but intriguing courses, and you can bet your hat that I signed up for the one in my university's linguistics department. It wasn't technically a Klingon class, but a class on fictional languages like Klingon. Believe it or not, some sci-fi franchises work hard to ensure their fake languages have all of the features of an actual language, and that's no simple task. Of course, some shows have alien characters dictating nonsense, but not Star Trek! Star Trek has been going above and beyond since the very beginning, and we have no choice but to stan.
