Pastor Invites Entire Congregation to Couple's Small Wedding, Over 50 Uninvited Guests Show Up and Eat All the Food Before the Wedding Party Arrives: '[The bride] was mortified'
When planning a wedding, creating a guest list is one of the hardest parts. If you want to have a small wedding, there are probably a lot of cuts you have to make. But if you want a large wedding, you'll probably still be doing cuts when you find out how much the cost per guest is. And you can't forget about the plus ones you'll be paying for, too. Dwindling down your guest list is a sure way to save a lot of money on your big day. But imagine perfectly curating your list, finalizing your seating chart, giving the caterer the final count for food, and then, on the day of your wedding, 50 uninvited people show up. That's exactly what happened to this bride.
She and the groom attend a small church that they've only been members of for six months. Apparently, when someone in the congregation gets married, the entire congregation is invited. Unfortunately for this couple, they didn't know this until the pastor made an announcement the day before their wedding, inviting the entire church without consulting the couple first.
