They cancelled my shift w no notice. So, I quit. I've had enough. After working for 7 months for an employer who threatened to 1099 me because I asked for less hours (I'm a FT student), and constantly cancels my shifts on the same day, I can finally say that I've stood up for myself and I am done with the disrespect.

I have told them multiple times that if my shifts are going to be cancelled, I need two hours notice because I commute (drive for an hour and pay bridge tolls) and I leave 1,5 hrs before my shift starts. Well, I get to work today, ten minutes before my shift and I get a message that I've been taken off the schedule today. Poorlilhobbit I just stopped showing up to a job once because they scheduled me 0 hours two weeks in a row. They didn't post schedule online so I wasn't going to waste bus ride out there just to learn I had no hours... capitalism over hiring for a store launch... They called me a month later telling me the let me go. I told them "ya no

Bonuscup98 1 day ago If they text you that you're not working that day, the procedure is "walk in, clock in". Some states (California, for example) have to pay you for a minimum number of hours if you show up and start working whether they want you there or not. In your case it they post the schedule and you're supposed to be there the correct response is "what text?" Beeline for the clock and punch in. If they don't pay the minimum hours you use the labor board to punch them in the nuts.
