Hollywood had us believing that high school would be the best time of our lives. Growing up with stuff like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl, and Lizzy McGuire had us all convinced that high school would be exciting, filled with hot and beautiful people, and brimming with opportunities to find true love on a school trip to Rome. In truth, high school was a very awkward, challenging, and boring time, except for those unfortunate enough to have peaked as a 17 year old. It did have its moments, and surely everyone has a few good memories from those locker-lined hallways, but being overly fond of adolescent memories is not typically a good trait in adults.
