There are a lot of obvious scams out there. If some 'Ethiopian prince' emails you asking for your help investing money abroad, you'll probably laugh a little, and then block that email address, but not every scam is so transparent. Some scammers are more clever about their conquests and use emotional weaponry to scourge their victims of every penny in their bank account–like the lady in our next story.
Falling just short of kicking a puppy, an attempt to scam a grieving widow has to be one of the most vile and immoral acts out there. Full of sorrows and woes, a widow managing an inheritance to anything already has her hands full with bickering heirs, probate, and laws of the estate, but when the woman in our next story encountered the alleged mistress of her late husband, she found that there were far more pressing matters to attend to.
After the passing of her husband three years ago, u/One-Teaching3577 spent her time raising her 8-year-old solo and sifting through her husband's loose ends. During that time, she learned a lot about her late husband's shenanigans during the time of their marriage–most importantly, she discovered that he was a part-time scumbag. Because of this, it wasn't surprising to have a strange mistress show up at her door years after his passing, judging by the bouncing baby at her heels, her husband was up to far more than just a random fling.
But when this mistress used her love child as a threat to her family's livelihood, things got spicy…
