I'm on an unlimited PTO policy. Do I formally quit or just disappear until they fire me?
  • 03
Edit: Been getting some hate so maybe some added context might help. Our official PTO policy is unlimited,

however like any other PTO, it has to be approved by your boss. Well my boss decided I had taken enough PTO

It took them 6 months to realize that I hadn't done a thing and fire me. I got a nice severance package and my unemployment, plus the six months they paid me for sitting at home watching TV.

BoredBS... 18h ago . Unlimited PTO. You know...I'd be seriously interested in testing this. You have it in writing? Let's see how unlimited it really is.

NoMore... 16h ago • Push the confirmed in writing PTO as far as you can. While you're out, hunt for jobs and go to therapy.
  • 13
While you're in therapy, tell your therapist that your job is ruining your mental health and you'd like their help applying for FMLA.
  • 14
The day you run out of PTO and are expected back, show up as required, and apply for FMLA.
  • 15
If you're lucky, they'll do something obviously illegal and/or you'll have found a new job.

VinylHig... • 18h ago It's a dumb question. You still need approval and formally request it unlimited pto doesn't mean show up when you want. If

you request a ridiculous amount it will be rejected. If you go over your requested pto and disappear you'll be fired.
