What's a social habit everyone seems to accept but you find really annoying?

mrp0013 When people don't understand that listening is the most important part of the conversation.

GOULFYB The amount of people I talk to who are very clearly just waiting for it to be "their turn" to speak again is astounding. Oftentimes they don't even wait, they just interrupt.

Oil8524 People congregating in doorways, particularly when there is plenty of non-doorway space available

Dontlookimna' ed Not exactly the same but similarly I'm shocked at how awful people (in nyc of all places) are terrible about elevators and subways. Let people off before you get on, it's not that hard.

NotBeginning Anew people who stop in the middle of a busy walkway to check their phones. it's like they think they've hit pause on the world.

Knyfe-Wrench It's not just a phone thing. People stop in the middle of aisles at the grocery store, at the end of an escalator, in a doorway. You're not the only person that exists, move out of the way!

SecretProgramor Kids blasting whatever TV show on their iPads in the middle of a restaurant while I'm trying to eat. The kids can watch whatever but somebody teach them to use headphones.

KampieStarz Grown adults on the bus playing annoying games. Like can I get a moment of silence please?

beesandsids Filming strangers. It's one thing if you're just taking a holiday snap or something and there's people in the background but actually pointing your camera at strangers without consent solely for the purpose of making videos of them to post online is not cool. I get it's legal to do so in most public places.

nilarips Came here to say this. I'm burnt out of being readily available to people and basically just ignore everyone now.

GammaDoomO At work, if someone leaves early no one bats an eye, but if you're just a few minutes late you can get in hot water. Just one of those interesting societal norms I noticed

factfarmer Bringing extra people (whom I don't know) to a meal without asking.

Moorpheus4993 People that don't use their turn signals. Edit: I know it's a 'duh' type of thing but I just want to make it clear that it's something that bothers me.

Old-Bluejay8188 Networking. I hate it. A bunch of people playing the "notice me and be impressed" game. Attending events just so people know you exist in the hopes that some day, some random person from the hundreds of people you made eye contact with will hire you for something else. I'll keep my boring little job and not attend time wasting events, thanks.
