What would you do for your best friend? Would you race through Weathertop, tailed by 5 terrifying Nazgûl or would you fight off an ancient 20' tall spider? Would you walk through the desolate planes of Mordor–barefoot–just to see to it that your buddy completes their ultimate trial? Now THAT'S friendship.
Any Lord of the Rings fan knows that Sam and Frodo are the epitome of homies. And trauma bonding isn't the only thing binding these two hobbits together. Although the Fellowship ideologically represented this notion of comradery, ultimately, because of the power of the One Ring, their whole schtick fell apart. But for Sam and Frodo, two hobbits leaving the comfort of their hobbit-hole to literally go save the world, they were bound by more than just duty.
So the next time your friend hits you up for a hangout to catch up on life, you must make it happen, Mr. Frodo, sir. Despite the difficulty of your week or the lack of social battery left in your tank, that friend of yours may be invaluable one day, hoisting you onto their back as you scale the fiery cliffside of Mount Doom.
