'I'll be living here at the airport until I find him': Person Loses Their Cat at the Airport Because of Lacking Security, Turns the Place over until the Cat Is Found and Safe Again

As can owners who want the lives of their cat to be purrfect all the time, we have some major fears that we deal with on a daily basis. What if our cat runs away and we never get him back? Videos of cats reuniting with their humans are one of the sweetest things ever, but we don't know if we want to be on the other side of them. What if our cat is not drinking enough water? Or eating enough food? Or too much food? We don't know what could hurt them in a serious way in the long run. 

What if we lose our cat in the airport - during one of the most stressful moments for a cat and for us alike? Nightmare. And that's exactly what happened to this cat and cat owner in this story. We can only be thankful to them for doing everything that they had to do to find him, no matter the cost.

    Literally one of our biggest nightmares. As if having to take your cat to the airport on a flight, surrounded by all these strangers and weird sounds and spooky things happening… to lose your cat like that. We would have had a heart attack.

    He got away from me in an airport that didn't have a separate security check area. They made me take him out of the carrier, then the carrier got stuck on the conveyor belt. After crawling behind the check in counters for 2 hours, I finally spotted his little eyes with my flashlight and was able to lift the floor tiles to scoop him up. Missed my flight, but getting him back and watching him nap like nothing happened after we got back to the hotel was priceless.

    Thank goodness that you didn't give up on finding him. Thank goodness that you didn't leave the responsibility to these airport workers who wouldn't care nearly as much as you, if at all. And thank goodness that you were willing to do all of that to get him back. This cat is lucky to have you.

    54vior 3d ago • Me too. Moved to another country and of course u read the horror stories of animals being lost. Cats aren't like dogs and are like hi here I am. They find a stealth place to hide. My husband is luckily pretty strong and had him in a bear hug and had to hold him while all claws punctured both his new shirt and his skin. Just standing there and getting bloodied. Held him like a champ! He knew he would be dead if he let him slip out. Next time, screening room! 747 Reply

She managed to break free at Baku airport and missed her flight. She was returned to the rescue and six months later I happened to adopt her.
