Every worker has to set boundaries somewhere, and for this server, her boundaries are all about the dog.
On her very first day at a restaurant, the new server set 3-4 large bags down in a corner of the kitchen where employees leave their things hidden from customers' view. She had just clocked in and was beginning her orientation when a coworker discovered her dog in one of those bags. She had mentioned nothing about needing her to dog to be with her at all times during the interview process, and it turns out she did not have authorization to have a service animal with her either. It was all a personal preference and not one she thought to mention to her boss beforehand. Her manager, of course, confronted her about this, specifically that it would be unsafe to have a dog in the kitchen. Let's just say the server did not handle this confrontation well. Good luck to her!
