Every couple has their own way of dividing the chores. Maybe one of you is better at cooking, so the other one doesn't mind doing the dishes. Maybe one of you cleans the bathroom while the other one cleans the fridge. It's maybe even the case that one of you has a much more demanding job than the other, so you're okay to fork off most of the household duties to the less busy one. Whatever it is, you have your system and you're sticking to it. But, on the other hand, it's probably assumed that if one of you is gone, it's probably on you to handle your own business. You're on you're own again, so you better get used to handling things yourself. Or so one would think.
