Welcome back internet girlies. When you're in a marriage or partnership, one tends to rely on the other for certain things. This reciprocal dynamic is essential. We all need someone to rely on (within reason), and your partner should be your main support system. During the course of long-term love, it's common to develop habits with partners as well, and even if boundaries are crossed, it's all in the realm of normal relationships. It may not be ideal to feel like your partner has childish qualities, like being late, but intentionally making them miss out on life events to learn a lesson is just as immature.

I have so many friends that consistently run late, and at the end of the day you have to just know and understand they'll be late. Trying to punish people for something so petulant is immature, in my opinion. So he warns her that he's not going to be in charge of the clock for her anymore, which leads up to her birthday. He bought tickets to an amazing show, and intentionally missed it to teach her a lesson about tardiness. You'll have to read the full story below to see whose side you're on.
