I'd love to be in the room with Marvel's suits when they found out how much Joker: Folie a Deux flopped. After years of being told that Marvel is on its way out and will never recapture the success of 2019, DC discovered that they couldn't put $200 million eggs in a basket from 2019. Marvel would never make a musical with a budget that large and hope that their fans wouldn't care it was a musical. They would make a musical for a modest (for Marvel) budget and then throw it onto Disney+ for the moms and the theatre kids. That's what they did with Agatha All Along, and it's been a great success!
While the future of films based on DC Comics is uncertain, Marvel is trucking along with their five and ten year plans. If you plan to watch the new Venom movie just for the heck of it, these Marvel memes are for you.
