There are two types of spooktastic Halloween lovers on October 31st: The ones who adore a costume contest, rolling up to this year's Halloween bash with a brand new, fully kitted-out ensemble, and then there's me… The introverted horror movie lover who'd rather stay inside and re-watch a slasher, ignoring the raps at the door of children begging for candy.
Halloween feels like the one time a year when introverts can make up a simple excuse to stay home. If you're doing a horror movie marathon any other time of the year, it feels strange, but during Halloweekend, nobody bats an eye (pun intended🦇). You're invited to stay wrapped up in your covers like a mummy with the lights on low, a candle burning in the distance and your eyes glued to the screen. I know that my introverted self is happy to cancel plans on Halloweekend, simply because I love the comforts of my home and can finally–with no guilt–kick back with my favorite pumpkin-flavored treats and a Día de Muertos-themed glass of wine.
