‘Almost everything?’: Moms unite and weigh in on things they do in motherhood that their MILs ‘hate for no reason’, revealing motherhood is truly a universal experience

If there's one thing most moms can agree on, it's that people telling us what we should and should not do while we try to navigate motherhood is annoying, to say the least. Whether you're a first-time mom or a seasoned veteran with the title of "Colonel Mommy", figuring out which parenting styles work for you and your children is most important. Just because your mother-in-law gave your partner soda for breakfast and candy for dinner doesn't mean you need to abide by their standards. After all, you're not her! In some extreme cases, you should even be thankful you aren't her (women with evil MILs, you know what it is.)

It's important to have conversations with other moms to validate your own experience as a mother. Though your MIL's constant whispering and "teaching" might strike a nerve, they're usually (hopefully) looking out for you and your child's best interest. Sometimes, though, they have to let mothers learn on their own! Everything has a learning curve, parenthood included.
