Engaging in a petty back-and-forth with your coworker is, more often than not, a recipe for disaster. However, sometimes you have no choice but to defend yourself.

One morning, her coworker who was on the subsequent opening shift tried to get her in trouble with their manager for a mistake she had not made the night before. So, the Redditor decided that the best way to get even was to make her shift ever so slightly more strenuous the next time her coworker was scheduled to open after the Redditor was scheduled to close. This went on for a bit, and it made their working relationship all the more tense when they were scheduled to work together. This prompted the Redditor to opt to cover for any shift the coworker had to reschedule so as to avoid having to be in the same room with her, all the while masking that as generosity.
