It can be bonding to share this tradition as a family, and it teaches children the playfulness of love and connection. But what if your family tradition is…questionable? What if your family tradition impacts everyone negatively?
This brings us to the Reddit thread. In this story, the original poster (OP) is a man whose sister has a family tradition of her kids blowing out everyone's birthday cake candles first. Now, it sort of defeats the purpose of the person being celebrated, or getting their wish granted. Why even put the candles there if the birthday person isn't going to blow them out?
