Mother confronts son's girlfriend after a negative comment about her daughter's eating habits, asserts that her poor language won't fly: ‘I don’t feel guilty about it’
If there's one thing mama bears don't mess around with, it's their baby girls' feelings. All women know what it's like to feel as though our bodies are under a constant microscope by society. We're either too big or too small, too short or too tall, on Keto or trying out Paleo, and so on. Nothing will ever please everybody, so mothers are teaching their daughters to be secure in their health and beauty. What matters is how we feel, not what we look like.
In this next story, a mom confronts her 18-year-old son's girlfriend of the same age after she makes an ill-mannered comment about her 15-year-old daughter. Unprovoked, the girlfriend throws out a comment along the lines of calling her eating habits/diet, "big back behavior". In no way should anyone, let alone an 18-year-old woman, make comments about a 15-year-old's body. The mother gives her a stern talking-to, and her son is furious that she's caused this rift in their relationship. It looks like his girlfriend caused the rift, and Mama Bear was just sticking up for what's right. Commenters got into a helpful discussion about eating habits, respect, and societal pressure.
