25 Pawsome Posts of Bluey's Perfectly Imperfect Family and Their Real-Life Doppelgangers

Honesty is impawrtant, so we'll open with a confession: it's pawssible that we love Bluey more than our toddlers. It's even pawssible that we encourage them to watch Bluey even when they want to watch something else. We may even secretly wish to be besties with the Heelers and go on family picnics with them. Not that we gave it much thought or imagined a menu that Blue Heeler and Red Heeler would appreciate, shaped like bones.

There aren't many shows that manage to capture what's cool about being pawrents as Bluey does. So many shows can be cringe-worthy and way too educational, but not these cool canines. They know how to educate their kids while befriending them, and how to treat their own weaknesses as natural and relatable. They helped us understand that we are all flawed as parents, and instead of trying to hide it, we should embrace it. The number of episodes that brought tears to our eyes is embarrassing, and the number of episodes we laughed wholeheartedly is astounding for what's considered a children's show!

What happens when you watch Bluey is similar to pawrenting a doggo: you forget they're dogs sometimes. They become such a pawrt of your family that there are times when you talk to them and truly expect them to reply. Looking at photos of the breeds of the characters on Bluey is surprising for exactly this reason. It reminds us that they're actually dogs. The Heelers, who we love as if they lived in our neighborhood, aren't hooman. But just like our dear doggos, it really doesn't matter: they're family.

True, the show is named after Bluey, but the true stars of this show are arguably Bandit and Chilly. Boy, had they opened a parenting school, there'd be a long waiting list for it. The secret seems to be that they enjoy parenting; they enjoy playing make-believe with their children, and, as Mary Poppins suggested way before they existed, they turn every mundane task and chore into a game.

And if Bluey and Bingo opened a sibling school, it'd have a long waiting list too, that's for sure. They're always there for each other, enjoy each other's company, and most impawrtantly - they gang up on their pawrents.

The other real star of the show (so many great characters!) is Muffin. Her frustrated screaming whenever she doesn't get what she wants is also super relatable. Both as a parent - because terrible two can prolong itself somehow - and as a person who just needs to scream sometimes.
