Worker spreads 100 copies of boss's meeting notes company-wide: 'Folks were... refusing to do their normal duties [and] browsing Indeed during work'

This award-winning employee really went above and beyond at their job. Many bosses say they want their employees to strive to give 110%, but they don't all actually mean that! 

A lot of jobs insist that they prioritize people who think big and want to implement change in the workplace. But the moment that person has a big idea or suggests any type of change at all, they're told to sit down and be quiet. They're treated like they're talking out of turn, instead of suggesting valuable ideas. 

This person was a self-proclaimed model employee who was always going above and beyond. As u/SickSIL1998 explains, their secretary job involved keeping notes for meetings and conversations. When they were appointed to a committee, they just continued on with their habit of keeping meticulous notes. 

As they explain below, this was all part of their plan to maliciously comply with the rules. Basically, they were so good at their job that they got their boss in trouble for doing her job wrong!   • Workplace safety should be paramount. It's the whole reason that places like OSHA exist: because a lot of higher-ups care more about profits than about safe working conditions for their employees. This boss talked about her employees way too callously: there's no way she should be employed after calling employees “whiny” and “needy."

  • This person is totally correct! This boss probably thought she was competent, but she's learned an important lesson about being cautious about what you say in the workplace. Employees should act like anything they say or do could be discovered by HR or their bosses. If not, they'll just have to learn the hard way how easy it is for conversations to leak out.
