10-year-old refuses to live with his mom after being forced to share a room with step-sister, father takes him in and stops paying alimony, mother tries to blame father for her struggling financial situation

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen of the internet. Divorce is never easy, meaning it's difficult to navigate for everyone involved. Turning away from the tether you have built with a husband or wife is something that takes great strength and support from others. Not only do you have to move on from the emotional ties with this person you decided to share vows with, but you have to deal with all the logistics of finances and where to live. Who keeps the house? Who has to move out and find a new place? If you have kids, who will get custody? It's a whole grieving process for your entire life, not just the person or the life you shared together. 

Money is often a huge factor in divorce, especially when there are children involved. No one walks away from a divorce feeling like they have more money, and it's objectively a money drainer. 

In this story, the protagonist is a man who's gotten a divorce, and he's been spending a lot on alimony. After his ex-wife moves in with her boyfriend, he's exempt from having to pay. All of this comes to a head when his son demands to move in with him, and he takes him in willingly.
