Richard Hanania → @RichardHanania What is wrong with these parents? Are they just doing this because they're lonely and it's the only way their kids will talk to them? Stop being pathetic.

Although some agreed to this assessment, many other reactions to the video were more understanding.

Grit @GRITCULT Replying to @Richard Hanania Nothing pathetic about being a lovely parent. If you ever have kids you'll understand

male tradwife @Gingerroot775 Replying to @Richard Hanania I feel like this is fine for a 22 year old who is new to car ownership so they don't get scammed

STANG: EVIL INDUST... @hydromerchant Replying to @Richard Hanania I would accompany my daughter to the car place so she doesn't get ripped off.

Tommy @tommydragna Replying to @Richard Hanania Honestly, it's a good idea. Car places constantly over charge and upsell women.

Chicken Tendieus @ChickenTendieus Replying to @Richard Hanania If you're in the comments supporting this as a healthy thing, don't complain when these kids can't do anything on their own. The enabling of this baby generation is wild.

tiz/ @tiznah Replying to @Richard Hanania If I was a woman I would hate going to any car place alone tbh

Penny @pennyelizabeths So now we're making fun of women for having good dads?

Bianca @smokedgouda5 I'm usually on Team Grow Up And Be An Adult FFS but a car dealership is absolutely going to scam a 22yo woman, so this is just smart.

Alyssa @alyssaleann Dads famously like to be useful, and as they age, a lot of daughters play along by "needing" their dads for things they could do for themselves It's part daughterly love, part learned helplessness. An annoying social media trend but mostly benign

Ilithiophobic. @Stevies Wonder People make themselves look like liabilities and they think it's cute

illy @ilalovesu This makes me laugh so much. If my dad's not available then my grandad/brother would come to help me with something like this. I'm really lucky that the men in my life have been great role models so far for how a man should act. Grateful I never have to deal with a guy like this.
