  • "I might just have to keep her"

Silver showed up occupying my feral cat's house in October. Unlike the feral kitty, who took months to approach without her running away and is still extremely wild, Silver came up to me and let me pet her on day one.

  • Fast forward to yesterday, we have a ton of snow and I discovered Silver had an eye injury. I took her to the vet and decided to keep her inside for treatment. Was told she's probably an older lady, maybe 10 or in her early teens. She's got
  • scarring on both eyes, Feline Herpes, and is a bit wheezy, but she is the sweetest cat I've ever met. Unless you're a dog. My dogs are still learning about personal space, one swat at a time. I bet she was someone's pet at some point, but was lost or abandoned. No microchip sadly.
  • Today, she curled next to me, purring like an engine while I gave her scritches. I've never had a cat as a pet before. I might now.

  • Bobbyoot47 If she is an older lady as you suggest I'm sure she would more than appreciate whatever help you can give to her. Sounds like she's had a really tough time and is looking for help. Looks like you are about to earn your angel wings my friend.
  • FFFRabbit I saved this 8-9 year old baby this summer. He was covered in fleas, had tapeworms, and was emaciated. He is SO loving! Those cats who had a rough go at life are the most appreciative fur babies. Thank you so much for helping her!

  • Roubaix62454 She's a sweet and grateful lady. Thanks for taking care of her. My wife and I are convinced that feral rescues are extra grateful. This is our feral rescue, Whiskey, now 7ish. He showed up on our property when he was 4 or 5 months. Our brother/sister litter mates we adopted are loving. But, this guy is special in his own way.

  • 100percentapplejuice We saved Lilly on New Years Day last year, and in no time at all, revealed herself to be so sweet, loving, and silly. She never fails to sleep beside me when I go to bed, meows at me when I'm in the kitchen for pets and rubs, and sits on her tiny little piano chair propped up next to my gaming chair to stay by my side.

  • Keep Silver! Cats are wonderful little creatures, and they'll absolutely change your mind on them. I can't imagine my life without cats now.
  • DiveCat I have a massive soft spot for the seniors, especially the ladies. Ones like Silver will be forever grateful for the safe and warm space you can give her, for as long as it can be which may be many years yet! I hope you keep her, sounds like she wants to keep you! She also sounds like she really needs a break, poor girl.
