You can only expect money from your family for so long, but once you're an adult, you're basically on your own. Unless you come from a wealthy family, you probably haven't gotten any huge handouts from Mom and Dad. 

In many high schools across America, there are kids who will get cars for their 16th birthday, flaunting their wealth for everyone else to jealously admire. Some kids receive second-hand cars from their parents, but I bet there was at least one kid in your high school who got a brand-new car with a giant ribbon on the front. Of course, not everyone can appreciate their parent's money. Many people just grew up expecting the best of everything. When they get out of high school and into the real world, they realize that they've been a bit sheltered, and that they actually have to work very hard to earn money. 

Now imagine that instead of a car, you're grown up and married, and you're waiting for your parent to buy you a house. This would be a huge luxury, right? You'd be thanking your parents endlessly for even offering… right? Maybe you would, but not everyone feels that level of gratitude, as u/Leading_Rock_418 shared in their story.
