'She was starving and terrified': Couple rescues a screaming black cat that was alone in the woods, and now, she is spoiled and will never be hungry again

Most people, when they hear a screaming kitten outside, don't do much. We're busy, we have our problems to deal with, someone will help the cat, right? Just not us. We think that's what they must be thinking. It has to be that. But other people - kind, pure, wholesome people can't just walk by. And those people deserve our gratitude, because they're doing what most people won't. They are going out of their way to rescue a cat in need and give it a new start. 

Those are the kind of people that we have in today's story - people who had other plans, were going other places, but stopped everything to help a cat that was calling for help. And now, a couple years down the line, you can see exactly why they did what they did. The kitty they saved is now spoiled as heck - as she should be, is best friends with another cat, and is clearly endlessly happy with the knowledge that she will never, ever be hungry again.

    My little street rat has become the sweetest cat in the world. It took her a long time to trust me after I captured her but now she's a spoiled brat. She is always begging for attention and waking me up at 5 am. She bonded with my other cat and now they share one brain cell between them. I'm so glad I found her before winter.

  • This adoption was so meant to be. Adopting a black cat on Halloween, rescuing it from the scary woods, and now… having that cat be spoiled as heck and bonded with another - we're obsessed. And so thankful. More people should be as amazing as the people who rescued this void.

  • She looks like the happiest kitty in the world now, and once again, we have to say thank you. Black cats are still one of the least adopted kinds of cats in shelters. So many people don't give them a chance even though they make such great pets. Sure, you might talk to a crumpled black T-shirt on accident at night sometimes, but that's not the cat's fault.

    Medical Toe_9293 OP It's very understandable that she was scared. I left food out for a couple weeks after I found her in case her mom or siblings were out there but never found any. I think she was living all alone for a while. I'm sure it was hard for her. She was starving and terrified. I was so happy when she ate for the first time inside.

    Medical_Toe_9293 OP Actually didn't have to do anything. They were separate for a while before I took her to the vet. When I let them meet they were instantly best friends. I've never seen two cats get along so well.

    Medical_Toe_9293 OP It was on Halloween my girlfriend and I were leaving to go out for the night and she was sitting at the edge of the woods near our place meowing. So of course we said forget our plans we need to catch this cat. We got her to come close to us with those Churu tubes. It seems like every cat loves those things. She was too scared to let us touch her and kept running back into the woods. I ended up running to a store to get a safe trap that wouldn't hurt her. We put some food in

    Medical Toe_9293 OP I caught her in a trap that wouldn't hurt her. After we got her inside it was just giving her food and talking to her a lot. She was mad at first but very slowly started to let me touch her. Eventually I opened up the door and let her roam around the bedroom freely. That's when she started sleeping in bed with me. It took a few weeks to gain her trust.
