I've always thought there was something magical about the d20. It's not just a die—it's destiny in your palm. The outcome of an epic boss fight? A natural 20 can turn a disastrous plan into a legendary tale. But have you ever wondered about the origin of the d20? Turns out, this iconic gaming tool dates back to ancient Egypt, where it wasn't guiding adventurers but may have been used for games, divination, or even something more mysterious. Made from serpentinite, a greenish rock often used for jewelry and small sculptures, this ancient die is a testament to humanity's long-standing love of rolling the odds.

I'm not gonna lie—I always thought Gary Gygax invented all the funky non-6-sided dice when he created Dungeons & Dragons. Why wouldn't I? Before I started playing D&D, I'd never even seen a d20. Turns out, the dice themselves have an epic history all their own.
