'Found a kitten tied up in a bag': Person saves an orange cat that was thrown in a dumpster, adopts him and gives him a second chance at a happy life

It doesn't matter how many stories we'll read of people abandoning cats or being mean to random cats… we will never understand it. Cruelty is a choice. Being cruel to an animal is something that can simply… not be done. Avoid the cat, ignore the cat, do anything other than harming it. We've read stories about everything from people painting cats blue all the way to people shooting cats with pellet guns, and although these stories specifically had happy endings, not every one of them does. 

Still, here at ICHC, we choose to focus on the pawsitive because we think that the more praise these good people are given and the more we hate on the bad people, the more good people there will be. That's what we hope at least. And that's why we simply had to share this one with you guys - a story about someone tying a kitten up in a bag and throwing it in the trash. They could have just- not done that. But they did. Thankfully, the kitten was found and saved and adopted on time.

    In May of 2024, I was taking the trash out and heard distressed meowing coming from the dumpster next door. I opened it to find a very small orange kitten inside. I took him in, bathed/fed him, vetted him, and now 9 months later, my Milo is HUGE and thriving. Total mama's boy, such a sweetheart, and the best thing that's ever happened to me. I am abundantly blessed.

  • There were just… so many other options for what to do with the cat before tying it up and throwing it out. Endless options. This was a choice. And it was a cruel one. We're just glad to see that the comments under the story agree.

    Toonces348 I would like to find whoever did that to that sweet kitten, seal them into an airtight bag, and throw them into a dumpster on the hottest day of the year. It would only be fitting, seeing as how they are maggot infested festering putrid garbage themselves. You are Milo's hooman hero, and in return you've got an incredibly handsome fur- friend. Thank you, kind hooman, for saving his life.

    samantha_maya OP Hahaha biiiig boi!! Vet thinks he's part maine coon. He's 21lbs at 11 months and the vet said he's not overweight, he's on par for a maine coon mix his age. Idk man hahaha You are welcome, the pleasure is all mine.. honestly

  • We can only say that we are so thankful that in the midst of all the crappy people in the world, there are also good people like this. We wish there were more of you. And more than anything, right now, we wish you and your kitty many, many happy and healthy years together.

    Bob Donowitz Dear people..if you're going to abandon your pets like a piece of sh, is it too much to ask that you don't go the extra mile and condemn them to death by tying them up in a bag. For f_s sake. If I ever caught someone doing this I'd tie their feet to the tow hitch on my car and drag them until the police forcibly stopped my vehicle.
