There are few websites that bring people together and tear them apart quite as swiftly as the website formerly known as Twitter. At its best, it is a town square for ideas, laughter, and community. Some tweets are so funny and true that they bring together millions of people, for a least a moment. Some tweets change the way we speak. I haven't been quite the same since "almonds is wood" hit the scene. People have made lifelong friends on Twitter, discovered new fandoms, enacted social change, and found careers in comedy. Users of the website also get into constant fights, make mountains out of molehills, cause destruction, fan heated discourse, and make enemies. 

Maybe it's just a cross-section of humanity at large. Or maybe it's a dark realm of its own making. Maybe Twitter has made us this way, from years of careful engineering. Either way, we still want to look at the tweets.
