Meet Kira, a 3 year old Siberian who is obsessed with the outdoors! Kira has a leash and harness, and we go for walks weekly. But this week was full of no walks, because it's 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside and snowing

She is obviously upset about this ordeal, and shows it by clawing at our wooden door and knocking over various items. So what does she do the moment the door is open for .5 seconds to get a package? She bolts

So here I am, in nothing but my robe and slippers running after my cat who has never touched snow before today. She's having a hay day and eating the snow while I slipped on my stairs and ate sh. At this point I'm mad, wet, and yelling at my cat to, and I quote, "get over here or I'll ship your furry a to Australia"

We recently got new neighbors. They come out to see a half n ked 18 year old dog piling a cat as it screams murder and proceeds to claw my eye out "Hey! Is that your cat?" Sh. They think I'm stealing her.

"Yes it is, she's just being a baby! Her collar is-" Double sh, I had to take it off her to brush her earlier that morning.

What do I do in my autistic panic mode? I stop, and I bolt back into the house with nothing to say as my cat is screaming and hissing at me. (She's usually super sweet but not when guests are near)

Neighbors go back inside, I think, it's all over now. I'm bl ding, I clean up a bit and suddenly I hear a very loud knock at the door "police department, open up!" F 1. I'm terrified of cops. They think I stole a cat. I'm bl ding at the nose and I'm still half n ked and covered in mud. I panic again. I run down stairs and open the door with a nervous smile "I DIDNT STEAL MY OWN CAT" is all that came out of my mouth as I faced the two officers.

They came inside, realized she was mine after I showed some pictures to them, gave her treats, and left with an apology I kid you not this all happened yesterday and I'm still processing it carefully

. _drydock_ 22h ago Good Lord, if I saw a half-n ked person scrambling after a cat in 10°, I would know they were a frantic pet owner. I've had a handful of my own chases in bad weather after a pet who made a bad decision. It's scary and unfun when you're worried over your fur baby. Glad you got your angry cat back. Good luck with the neighbors.

Oblaten Musik • 1d ago Well, those neighbors are gonna be fun. Judgmental much? Sorry you have to deal with that. At least the cops were reasonable. I'm sure they don't like your neighbors, either. O

Turbulent-Engine-538 22h ago. • Calling the police is an overreaction tbh, they've probably never had a cat. I swear non cat owners really don't realize how much attitude they can give us when they don't want to do something then they'll be cuddling you 30 mins later

    • YapperBean 19h ago OP, send your neighbours a nice card with Kira as a baby and something like "Hi, welcome to the neighbourhood. Thank you for your concern of Kira's wellbeing, she gets a little dramatic when she needs to sit out her daily walks due to weather. My name is [OP], I am

shy around strangers, but if you see me in my front yard chasing my cat, feel free to come help me catch the fluffy opportunist. Hope you settle in well." Sound nice and make them feel bad! (You can throw in your 'tism in there if you feel comfortable sharing that.)

Responsible-Egg-9363 20h ago • Unless I was 100% sure that someone was stealing my OWN cat, I would never call the cops for that. Wrestling cats outside to come back inside for their safety is a completely normal thing lol

When I was in college and still living at home, my grumpy old man neighbor called the police because our dogs were barking in the afternoon in their own backyard. THE HORROR I would understand if it was midnight or something but police guy showed up and said "dogs bark sorry but we still have to respond." I felt bad for him. And I definitely didn't live in a rich neighborhood.
