Guy kicks entitled guests out of his home after they go through his wife's belongings, complain about his cats, and break household rules during their stay

We all want to be selfless hosts who provide comfort, hospitality, and ease to those we welcome into our humble abodes. There's nothing quite like being the person to call when a trusted friend needs a place to crash—it feels good knowing folks enjoy the sacred space we've set up for ourselves, our friends, our family, and pets alike.

Where do you draw the line between guests needing accommodations and overly-advantageous behavior? This boundary might be blurred, but all it takes is entitled comment after entitled comment to realize you're giving a five-star accommodation to your friends (who are not appreciative of you) for free.

The guy who wrote this post realizes that his kindness is being taken advantage of when he allows friends to crash at his apartment in the United Arab Emirates. He was under the impression he would provide lodging for them while they go sightseeing, but the guests have become completely reliant on him for meals and transportation. The cherry on top is though they knew he had six cats living in his apartment, they had the nerve to complain about cat hair. Free lodging is not worth it to them, I guess, or they wouldn't have gone through his wife's things and got themselves a one-way ticket to a hotel…

  • If the guests had known cat fur and dander would be a dealbreaker, they should not have asked the guy for lodging accommodations. Cat parents don't play about their animals… If you mess with them, the parents will mess with you. The entitled guests complain about other things as well, but this feline complaint stood out to me for one reason: What did they think the guy would do with six cats while they were staying there? Throw them out for the week? Lock them up? Cat parents know better than to do such things, and aside from the guests' sticky fingers, their entitlement shines through crystal clear here.
