These days, it seems like the biggest slap to someone's face is in the form of wedding invitations. When a family member or friend upsets you, apparently you don't have to deal with it head on. Just uninvite them from your wedding and let the sparks fly. Another popular notion that's gaining more and more acknowledgement is child-free weddings. In a way I can understand. It's a formal event, and people tend to put a lot of emphasis on it being the "best day of their life." They want it to be perfect, and with the inherent unpredictability that children bring, it makes sense that they would want to keep everything more orderly. But at the same time, if it's family members who are children it just seems cruel. I couldn't imagine if I had a wedding and didn't have my beautiful baby niece there! So what if she cries or breaks something? I love her, and the day is about celebrating love, not being a perfect seamless statue.

How do you feel about child-free weddings? It seems a little bit strange and cruel in my opinion. Sure, weddings are formal events, and it's supposed to be a day for the engaged couple. But without the presence of their friends and family, what's the point? If a couple behaves poorly then they might be left completely isolated. They're still reliant on people coming and having a good time. Family is family, even if they're young. It makes sense that they wouldn't want some sort of disaster at their wedding, but it's also their niece and nephew. I think it's weird and cold to not want your niece and nephew at your wedding.
