Parenting is no piece of cake. It's one of the most thankless jobs you can get in life. Okay, you get Mother's or Father's Day once a year when the attention turns on you and how good of a parent you are, but what about all those moments in between? Who thanks you for putting all the toys away at the end of the night? Who thanks you for dropping them off at school every morning? Who thanks you for cleaning their various bodily fluids out of various textiles? Exactly. 

Kids aren't exactly hard-wired to be grateful, because they don't know anything else. They don't know a universe where their cereal bowl is magically filled every morning. They don't know that their mother isn't going to do their laundry forever. They take for granted that someone cut up their baby carrots into little pieces for them. But after all, who is to blame but you? Since everything seems to magically be the parent's fault?
