Family abandons munchkin cat that they bought after she gets sick, but thankfully a wholesome couple instantly falls in love and adopts her: 'Today, she is a sassy, spoiled... [and] purrfectly healthy'

Adopt, don't shop. We have said it, and we will keep saying it as many times as we have to. There are enough cats out there that are looking for homes. You don't need to buy "special" ones. There's no need to encourage breeders trying to make more special ones. Every cat is special at the end of the day. Trust us. We speak from experience. Sometimes, they are too special. But alas, unfortunately, some people do buy cats, and those cats, the ones that have been bred and brought into the world, as unethically as it might have happened, need homes too. 

That's what happened here - kind of. A family bought a munchkin cat from a breeder, and then, when the cat got sick, which does happen, they abandoned the cat. It's pure luck - or maybe it's the cat distribution system - that had that same cat find a couple to adopt it so quickly. A couple who nursed it back to health, loved it and, unlike the family who bought it, will continue loving it as long as it lives.

The family who bought her no longer wanted her and we immediately fell in love when we saw her up for adoption. She's a fearless adventurer and a goofy adorable fluffball! We've had her for just over two years now and she is purrfectly healthy!

  • There is so much wrong with this story. From the fact that there are breeders in China specifically for this kind of poor kitty, to the fact that people are willing to pay to buy them and ship them, all the way to them then abandoning the poor cat. Horrific. We don't understand.

  • We are just thankful that there are still good people out there to counteract the actions of the bad ones. Because bad people will always be there. We just need to have enough good people to save the kitties that are growing up in such awful environments.

    romgm OP Nope! She appears to hear quite well. Only her outer ear is damaged. She still has her inner ear intact as well as the muscles on the base of her ears. That lets us see if she's "twitching” or "pulling back" her ears in different situations. But she sure as h_I hears us yell “Churu time!” so don't let her innocent eyes deceive you.

    strangesadhappiness First time reading four amputations my brain immediately took that to mean all her legs were amputated and was pretty confused looking at the pictures until I finally saw the caption Mochi is so cute though and I'm glad she still has 3 legs at least and not 0 (C)
