If you're a cat pawrent you know the ol' 'fits and sits' situation - an enclosed space stays unattended for a while and your cat claims it as their own, by no other way than sitting inside. The size of this enclosed space doesn't matter, all it needs is to fit. And even if it doesn't fit, the cat will fit - because the laws of physics somehow don't apply to cats, for some cosmic reason probably. All enclosed spaces around your house are actually mini-houses of your cat. Your cat lives inside them now, and there's nothing you can do about it.

All this becomes more true when your cat has a Tortitude - the very-cat attitude of tortie cats. It's not like the single-brain-celled orange cats who will really try to fit in anything that doesn't actually fit, it's more like an all-encompassing attitude for the unexpected - especially dishwashers, apparently. A bunch of tortie cat pawrents compared their cute cats fitting and sitting inside non-other than the house appliances. Apparently, torties love to contemplate taking over the world in the dishwasher, plotting a coup from inside the fridge, or just resting and relaxing in the dryer.

Ignore the creepy light reflection in the eyes, it happens to every cat even when they don't contemplate taking over the world - if this is a spot the cat decides is hers, then this is her spot. It doesn't matter if it's the flipping dishwasher - a cat's spot is where they decide they should be. Every cat pawrent knows that.

There's no place in any house that cats love more than a laundry dryer - it's closed like a box, it's warm, and usually (unlike this particular picture) it's full of freshly clean and soft clothes. It's a delight for any fluffy feline friend.
