Wow, if I were in this woman's position, and my husband behaved like this during a power outage, it would be the biggest turn off of the century. Not only did he completely mess things up by not being responsible for the electricity, but he just wants to ignore the problem to play games. Can't they call the company and pay or something? Why are they just sitting in the dark? And why did this idiot man assume it was prepaid without making sure? Just breathes immature.

Husband abandons wife and newborn after power outage to play D&D with his friends, wife blows up at him and realizes she’s married to a child: “He assumed it was on autopay but never checked”
Do you ever have a moment in your life when it feels like reality just hit you across the face to the point where you're dizzy and dazed and going through a strange momentary crisis? Having an awakening about something, a realization, or a reality check is never comfortable. It's jarring to just have a sudden awakening about an intimate aspect of your life. Maybe it's with your partner, and your rose colored glasses abruptly fell off to reveal someone you don't even like, or can't recognize. Maybe you were just told you're fired from your job that you've been at for 20 years and see your life flash before your eyes. And maybe you just look in the mirror one day and realize that you're 40, unmarried, hate your job, and that your life isn't what you ever wanted it to be.
In the story below, the protagonist has just seen a version of her husband she never wanted to see. An immature, irresponsible, and childish version. He just assumed their electricity bill was automatic and never checked to make sure. That's the first issue. Then, they lose their power and their whole house is pitch black. Strike number two. And to top it all off, instead of doing something to help, or handling the situation in a practical way, he wants to ditch his wife and newborn completely so that he can play D&D with his friends online.
