'This isn't the time to party': Sister refuses to go along with brother's ‘backup plan’ to turn his canceled wedding into a family celebration, brother calls her unsupportive
Canceling a wedding is something literally no one wishes for. No one wants to go through the entire ordeal of falling in love, forming a bond with another person, getting engaged, planning a wedding, and then canceling it all at the last minute. Yet, sometimes those things have to happen. Sometimes canceling the wedding is a much better outcome than going through with it, and you are simply going to have to deal with all of the consequences.
It seems like that is what the bride in this story was trying to do after she found out that her soon-to-be husband was cheating on her. Suddenly, getting married to him was the last thing she wanted to do, and canceling the wedding seemed like the only option.
The groom, however, refused to deal with his actions, and instead of reflecting on all the damage he's done, decided to still have the wedding party. He turned the wedding into some sort of pity party for himself and his family, while refusing to come to terms with his betrayal.
