'My husband just wants her gone': Married couple adopts anxious rescue dog, wife tries to acclimate the poor pupper but the husband loses patience, causing them to reevaluate their marriage

This post really hits home for us, animal fam. Our first dog was a rescue with anxiety issues, and let us tell you, nothing could have prepared us for the journey we would go on with her. We thought we knew dogs. We grew up in a multi-dog household as kids and we thought we understood dogs. However, she taught us otherwise, and we learned a lot of hard lessons before it got easier. She challenged our patience, our knowledge, our relationship, and our lives. But in the end, it was all worth it.

Rescue dogs from terrible backgrounds are a challenge for even the most educated dog people. These doggos require an individual training plan, lots of consistency and patience, and the willingness to get knocked down and still want to keep moving forward. So when we read about this married couple who adopted a dog that was ruining their marriage, we couldn't skip it. This. This, this, this, this, this. This couple needs help, and there is no shame in asking for it. We never would have gotten where we are with our doggo without the help of some very furtastic dog trainers that helped us with our baby. This, patience, and consistency. Dogs thrive when there is a consistent schedule.
