Wife steals husband's USB stick and recovers deleted photos of his ex, chastises him for being happy in past relationships: 'I told her that this was a serious violation of my privacy'

All married couples have slightly different ideas of what the ideal marriage looks like. However, there are usually some basic similarities in what most deem important. One principle that most could agree on is trust. A serious relationship is not in a good place if two people feel like they can't have faith in one another.

Nonetheless, many marriages have faced issues because of excessive paranoia. In a world where cheating and lying seem to be all-too-common behaviors, it's easy for a romantic partner to get carried away with ideas of what their partner does and thinks when they're not around. Sometimes this comes from past bad experiences, and other times, it is an attempt at controlling them. Neither are straightforward to deal with, and if things go too far, there can be no choice but to end the relationship. When trust is broken, it cannot necessarily ever come back.

She stole one of his USB sticks and proceeded to recover deleted photos of him and his ex, then proceeded to complain that he had multiple previous relationships and looked happy in the photos.

    While he protested that what she had done was wrong, she warned that she was willing to do the same thing again. He looked for advice on how to navigate the situation.

    MckittenMan I would divorce her because she is unhinged. You can't even have deleted photos without being put on blast. Those pictures were deleted. And she used a data recovery program to retrieve them, then got mad at you for existing at some point in history? TF is that? That's mental intuition sh. Absolutely nothing for her to be mad about. Your wife went to a lot of sneaky effort to access pictures you had already deleted, non of which were scandalous.     DotCottonCandy She keeps violating your privacy, but there are not really any consequences for her for doing that apart from you being cross, so she'll probably do it again. In a relationship you have to set boundaries. Cheating is one most people agree on. To me, this invasion of privacy is a betrayal on the level of cheating and it would be enough for me to end the relationship. What sort of boundary is it for you?

As soon as he changed his password, she'd steal it when he was in the shower or when he was asleep and would figure out the new password to break in.
