26 Nostalgic Pictures of 90s PC Games to Refresh Pixelated Offline Memories

Look, looking at these pictures is the dictionary definition of a blast from the past for me. I'm not even sure I could name half of these games without the titles staring me in the face, but the feeling? Oh, that feeling. It's pulling me right back to being a kid in that glorious crossroad era, standing on the brink of decision—do I meet human friends at the playground or hang out with pixelated characters in a solo virtual adventure?

Then, when games weren't just entertainment, they were artifacts. They came encapsulated in flat discs that inevitably got scratched because I thought stacking them without cases was peak organization. Or, for games on the go, they arrived in chunky little cartridges that lived in my backpack like some sort of holy relic. Offline gaming was magic, pure and simple. The internet wasn't an escape yet; it was barely functional. If you wanted multiplayer, you had to drag your buddy over to your house and try to figure out which letter is Left and which is Up.
