Mom of two hosts family gathering for mother-in-law who was too overwhelmed to plan, calls her out in front of everyone after overhearing her criticize the party: 'I felt like I had been slapped'

• The party was going well until she overheard her MIL in the other room trashing the entire thing. From mocking the decorations to calling the food boring and “probably store-bought,” the MIL didn’t hold back. After all the work the host put in, she wasn’t about to let those comments slide. She called her out right then and there, and while some family members told her to “be the bigger person,” plenty of others backed her up.
