"Update - making a diy cat shelter for the time being. I’m going to lay straw at the bottom as well but for now I’m just putting it in the sides for insulation. I have an insulated bag I used to cover the entrance/exit."

"I built the shelter! See my updates below and I know it’s only the first night with it’s own house but this chair is currently the spot of choice "

"The cat went in about halfway, I’m hoping it will adopt this as a home! Right now it’s still just laying on my chair it loves so we will see."

moeru_gumi Look up Victoria Stilwell videos about dog training. There is no shame in having your dog on a leash indoors while training. They can be taught to "leave it"!

IhavemyCat You can make "found cat" posters if you want to just in case.. I had two strays that I adopted off the street and they weren't allowed inside for the longest time because my cat hated them so I bought them heated cat houses.

SeeMeSpinster . Do you have a spare bedroom or garage to keep her in. You could take your dog for visits? I put a wooden screen door on one of my bedroom doors for this very reason. She is a beautiful girl, congratulations!

DiveCat If she is this friendly and wanting to come inside, I expect she once had a home and has been lost or abandoned and is desperate to get back into a home. Poor baby wants an inside life. Please take her to vet and get her checked for a chip, in case someone is missing her. Do you have a reasonably sized room you can take her into, and give her litter box, bed, toys, etc, and keep her safe, while you figure things out?

SmellsPrettyGood2Me • You are a kind heart. Perhaps with exposure therapy your dog can slowly learn to love them with some highly supervised outdoor encounters, too!

Gullible-Cut8652 Maybe you can look for someone to adopt her. And please don't feed her from the can. It can hurt her.

RubyTx. 1 Cat Parent I believe you have been claimed. Building a shelter outside for your new overlord seems like great idea, if your doggo is unwilling to share. Bless your kind heart.
