It's genuinely starting to feel like the corporate world has a secret competition for the dumbest policy we can make people comply with and believe it makes sense. The award? A herd dog-shaped trophy, symbolizing the art of making employees—ahem, sheep—run back to their designated place without thinking twice. After all, who needs critical thinking when you have rules that defy logic?

Take, for instance, the brilliant idea of confining employees to a break room during their actual breaks. It's not a break if you can't leave, right? It's like telling a dog to stay in the yard but never letting it off the leash, it's still in the yard, but not exactly enjoying the freedom of leisure time. Imagine if we applied this principle to other areas of life: "You can go on vacation, but don't leave the hotel room until your time is up." Sounds like a blast.
