  • "A first for me: Someone offered my seat to someone else"

Haven't had this happen before or even heard of it happening. A321Neo, cross country flight. I'm on board in seat 4C, right side aisle of FC. Woman comes
  • on with someone she is clearly traveling with. She sits next to me in 4D. Partner sits in 5A. Person boarding behind them is in 3C, in
  • front of me and offers woman next to me to allow her to sit with her partner. I'm looking at him like "how are you going to swing that". Woman next to me looking
  • at him the same way. Guy in 3C says he'll move to the window in row 3 so I can move up to aisle in row 3 to allow her partner to take
  • my seat. Still looking at him like he's high, I remind him that window seat in row 3 is not his to take and that the person sitting may not want to switch.

  • He then tells me that I can take her parters seat in row 5 by the window. Due to length of flight, I tell him that I chose an aisle for a reason so I'll be happy to take his
  • seat in 3C and he can take 5A but I have no intention of taking a window seat. Apparently he changed his mind and didn't want a window either but at this point,
  • I reminded him that he was the one who made the offer. After thinking about it, he seemed a bit p ed but also was seemingly a bit embarrassed by his lack of thinking this through that he decided to take it and I moved up one row.
  • Getting off the flight, the woman and parter thanked us both for switching. I said "you're welcome" and the guy expressed
  • that he wished he hadn't as he was stuck in the window seat and also pointed out that he couldn't even keep the shade open because it was on the direct sunlight side of the plane.

  • Soulinx That is a wild thing to happen. He totally went "I volunteer you as tribute".
  • complete_doodle The audacity of some people. Glad you insisted on the aisle!
  • Ok_Muffin_925 Imagine being neighbors with these people.
  • IDunnoReallyIDont Another example where someone should've kept to themselves and simply sat quietly in the seat they were assigned!
  • river_song25 I would have refused point blank and demanded to know who he thought he was offering the seat I was sitting in to somebody else, and have me move seats? especially move seats to a seat that is either the opposite of the
  • one I wanted and paid for, or farther away from the part of the plane I wanted to sit in. Not my problem the couple wants to sit together, nor do I care if they sit together or not, or else i would have offered my seat myself to them, so why the heck should I move because somebody else offered my seat in a plane version of musical chairs?
