‘My boss is trying to get me fired’: Micromanager microscopes employee and issues made-up write-ups to force them out of a job after department switch

Managing other people can be a calling for some, an opportunity to teach, guide, and help grow. I mean, I think so, or so I've heard. Never seen one in real life though. Add the word micro before the title of your higher-up and you've got yourself a treat. Micromanagers are the opposite of the unicorn I mentioned above. Instead of embracing the opportunity to act like a corporate big brother, they choose to be Corporate Big Brother. Watching your every move.  

Micromanaging is bad enough as it is. Even when it's backed by good intentions, it's a hard behavioral trait to deal with. But when a manager micromanages with sinister intentions—oh boy, good luck with that. Imagine every little action you take twisted into an infraction. 

Now take the story of an employee who walked right into this nightmare after moving departments. The write-ups came fast and furious, each more ridiculous than the last.

  • Seniormano They def want you out. Doesn't matter what other people do, you're new in the dept, so as far as they're concerned you're a new employee to them, so they have to see what kind of a worker you are, and from what it sounds like, the new manager doesn't like how you work.
