These two childhood best friends have a really strong friendship, and it seems like they have it figured out. They know how to be there for each other, while also knowing when and where to draw the line, and how to respect each other's romantic relationships.
However, as mentioned above, sometimes jealousy leaves no room for logical thinking, which seems to be what happened to the guy's girlfriend when she decided she didn't like his friendship with his female best friend.

‘No man will ever want to marry someone like you’: Woman demands boyfriend cut contact with his female childhood best friend, he refuses, she gets his mom involved
Speaking as a woman with a really close childhood best friend, who also happens to be a man, I could never cut him out of my life just because a boyfriend might not approve of our friendship.
Seriously, I've known this guy since I was 4 years old, and we've been through thick and thin together. There are absolutely no romantic feelings between us, and we genuinely view each other as siblings more than anything else. And anyone who has ever spent more than five minutes with us has absolutely seen it too.
Yet, whenever I have to introduce a boyfriend to said best friend, I am quite nervous. Jealousy often doesn't leave room for any logic, and I understand why many men would feel uneasy if their girlfriend has a close friendship with another guy. But still, there is no way I would give up 20+ years of friendship for a guy I barely know, so we both have to simply make it work.
Which is why I fully understand where the woman who wrote the story below was coming from.
