Cocktail Bar Posts a Video That Has Every Bartender Getting in a Tizzy, Sparks Hilarious Comment Section

TW: If you are a bartender or have worked in a restaurant that has a bar, this might fill you with rage. There are many no-nos in the service industry field. Some things on the list are universal in the field, while others are specific to the position you work in. You never steal a servers pen, you never steal a seat from an unoccupied table without first asking the host, etc. This video, however, targets bartenders specifically, with some server cringe overlapping in there. 

 

If you've ever had to make a cocktail or just grab a class or straw while working in the service industry, then you know the unspoken rules that go with that. You never thought you'd have to point them out, they seem very obvious, and yet… Here we are.

  • My first day working in the service industry, the person training me immediately took me to the ice machine. He said, “get me a glass of ice.” Confused at how simple the task was as an 18-year-old, I grabbed a glass and went straight for the ice. He immediately stopped me before I could scoop and asks me if I'm trying to k!ll somebody. I shall plead that I was as stupid adult teenager who had never work in the service industry before, so I had no idea what he was talking about. But then the, very obvious, reasoning of “if the glass breaks, we won't be able to tell what is glass and what is ice. Do you want someone drinking glass?” Now, I can't believe how naïve I was as a kid…

     

    And it turns out I'm not the only one who gets triggered by instances like these!
