Aside from family and parental dynamics, no one ever wants to feel like they’re being taken advantage of. In the age of therapy speak, where everything is riddled with vernacular boundaries, narcissists, control, and manipulation, it’s impossible not to deep dive and over analyze simple situations. But in the story below, it’s not so simple. It centers around the relationship between a father and his daughter, where the mother is out of the picture.

Gracious father overhears 16-year-old daughter telling friends she manipulates him, he reprimands her by taking away any luxury, damaging their relationship: “This is unfair”
The relationship between a father and daughter is a special one. The phrase, "daddy's girl" exists for a reason. Sometimes your father just gets you in ways your mother cannot. There are some girls who are best friends with their mothers, who don't even like their fathers, and some girls who adore and look up to their fathers, and aren't as close with their mother.
Aside from family and parental dynamics, no one ever wants to feel like they're being taken advantage of. In the age of therapy speak, where everything is riddled with vernacular boundaries, narcissists, control, and manipulation, it's impossible not to deep dive and over analyze simple situations. But in the story below, it's not so simple. It centers around the relationship between a father and his daughter, where the mother is out of the picture. You'd think that they would be actually close, and have to rely on each other emotionally, but there are secrets that reveal themselves with time.
In the story below, the protagonist is a father who's under the assumption that he's actually very close with his daughter. Believe it or not, they're not as close as he thinks. The whole time, she's been feigning liking and loving him so that he'll continue to buy her gifts. In my opinion, she's an idiot.
