“About once a week, Cecil gets herself into a panic and has trouble calming down. The vet suggested putting on a sweater for about 10 minutes at a time, and surprisingly, it works! She calms down right away and becomes an instant cuddly purr machine haha.”

"Cecil unbound"

MORE INFO FROM OP:
For Cecil, an anxiety episode usually begins with her retreating to a corner or hiding under the couch. She starts panting, making small crying sounds, and pacing in tight circles. She stays like that until someone picks her up, but as soon as she’s put down, the behavior starts again. With the sweater on, though, everything changes. She calms down almost immediately and happily settles on my lap until the episode passes.
